Looking Back at VisionTek's Heritage
Throughout the 1990s, The Gurnee engineering & manufacturing facility supported product design, engineering, SMT manufacturing, and distribution for a broad line of memory, video card, and other upgrade component products for computers. During the first 10 years in business, VisionTek grew to a company of over 500 employees with world-wide revenues exceeding $300 million in annual sales.
By 1999, the product line had grown to include over 3,000 PC upgrade products, including a full line of proprietary memory modules for Apple, DELL, IBM, HP, Compaq, Gateway, Motorola, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, and many more Fortune 1000 companies.
In early 2002, the VisionTek Brand was purchased by new investors and partnered with the technology provider ATI, expanding their line to include Radeon™ branded consumer graphics products.
By 2006, VisionTek items could be found across North America at major electronics retailers like Best Buy, Circuit City, COMP USA, Fry's Electronics, Micro Center and Wal-Mart, along with numerous online retailers. VisionTek further expanded its technology partnership with AMD, after their acquisition of ATI.
In 2010, VisionTek built new corporate offices and warehouse facilities in East Dundee, Illinois. With expanded operations and additional executive corporate leadership, VisionTek continues to grow and innovate. Today, VisionTek is still one of the most recognized brands in the computing industry and has expanded their product portfolio with custom SSD designs, extensive DRAM offerings, and innovative accessories.
2013 celebrated the 25th anniversary of VisionTek's retail Brand and personifies our "Built to Last" memory product line slogan. As the company moves to the future, VisionTek will continue to innovate and adapt to the changing needs of our evolving technology market.
2018 marked the 30th anniversary of VisionTek's Consumer Electronics Brand. Our expanded line of Docking Stations, Hubs, Cables, & Accessories continue to address the growing laptop and mobile platform consumer demand.
